On May 7, China Art Invited Exhibition of Shanghai World Expo---“2010 Survival·Harmonious·Beautiful” was opening. There were lots of leaders participating the opening ceremony: Changjiang Wu, Zong Ming, Jiaocheng Wang, Dexue Xu, Guangjin Li, Weiping Zhang, Jinsheng Tian, Yiqiao Song, Changyou Dai, Xuguang Zhang, Zhigang Chi, Jingbo Zhou, Xu Wei, Zhanli Shen, etc.
Art Exhibition was one of the important culture displaying project of the World Expos. Owing to many departments’ effort, this exhibition was approved by the Shanghai World Expo. This exhibition was sponsored by the Chinese Artists Association, and hosted by Shanghai Ciyuan Love Foundation. This was a high standard of exhibition platform to show the world the unique charm of Chinese contemporary art and the modern value of the Chinese nation culture.
On behalf of CFLAC, Dawei Liu delivered a speech: “This exhibition was approved by the official with authority and modeling, and it was an important opportunity to show the world the unique charm of Chinese art. This exhibition would give the people from all over the world the different aesthetic pleasure with a high level of artistic and local cultural characteristics.”
Changjiang Wu said："the core value of the world expo was the progress of human, and it also was a great symbol of the Expo. The theme of the Expo was “Better City, Better Life”, which surrounded the topic of the development of the city and the progress of people. The main idea of the Chinese Artists Association to hold the exhibition was “ survival, harmonious, and beautiful”, which was people-oriented, focusing on people's life and status, and being aware of harmonious development to reflect the situation of Chinese contemporary art. This theme was a worldwide common topic and link to carry forward the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, expressing the concern of Chinese artists and their good wishes, spreading Chinese harmonious culture ideas and artistic values, better promoting the world's culture interaction and understanding .
Mr. Zong Ming and Mr. Changyou Dai also expressed his heartfelt thanks to the guests attending the opening ceremony, and they were pleased that the exhibition can be held in such a high level in Shanghai.
There were 199 pieces art works on display, 39 Chinese paintings, 28 oil paintings, 55prints, 34 calligraphy. These art works were selected from the national exhibition of the award-winning works and outstanding works that reflected the reality of Chinese present life and their future, showing the contemporary Chinese artist’s talent, visions and ideals.
After the exhibition, the work will also be on display at the expo culture center in batches, add glaring for Shanghai world expo park landscape of visual art.
It is reported, this exhibition was divided into two parts of Shanghai and Wuxi. Wuxi exhibition will last from on May 28 to August 25, displaying 600 items in Wuxi museum. The Exhibition was in three stages: Chinese painting·Calligraphy was from May 28 to June 25; Oil Painting Exhibition was from June 28 to July 25; the Lacquer Painting·Children' Art Show was from August 25 to July 28.
